Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hing Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most popular Indian actors. She started her career in the late 1980s, and rose to popularity with her role in Tezaab, a film where she appeared alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared along with her. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance from an early age. As a teenager, she began acting and was a victim for a few years because most of her initial films ended up failing. However, she eventually achieved success and eventually became one of the leading actors in the Indian film industry. She took a hiatus from acting following her marriage, but returned to the industry of entertainment. Recently, she had an important role in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggle of women within India. Dixit is nominated in fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these the awards she's won 8. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian distinction in India. She is well-known for her charitable work as well.
